A major initiative for integrating Artificial Intelligence into the public sector – €110,040 budget for the local municipality under the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin programme
The pioneering European project “AI4Capacity” is now underway in the Municipality of Topeiros, paving the way for the integration of Artificial Intelligence tools into public administration.
This initiative is implemented within the framework of the European Programme Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021-2027, focusing on enhancing digital skills and leveraging cutting-edge technologies across local public authorities.
The total budget of the transnational partnership amounts to €544,110.00, with the share allocated to the Municipality of Topeiros as a project partner reaching €110,040.00. Funding is co-financed 90% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and 10% by national public funds (Public Investment Programme – PDE).
Through this action, the Municipality of Topeiros creates key employment opportunities for specialized professionals, while laying the foundations for modernizing its municipal services and adopting innovative AI tools for the benefit of local citizens.
The implementation of “AI4Capacity” confirms the shift of regional municipalities towards innovation and international cooperation. For the Municipality of Topeiros, participating in such a transnational consortium offers a dual benefit: it boosts local employment with specialized job positions and introduces the region to the next era of digital governance.
